Google has been experimenting with special ranking for sites that are user friendly for sometime now. However, as of April 21st it will start penalizing websites that are not mobile friendly. This change will apply to all industries and all languages worldwide. As Google stated, “we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.” * Websites that are not mobile friendly will be loosing their ranking. It is critical to prepare for this change. It takes a long time to built your ranking and so loosing it may hurt your website a lot. You still have about a week to make necessary changes. Google is offering free mobile friendly test. Check it out and make sure that your website in fact is mobile friendly. You can also use Webmaster Tools account to see what possible issues there may be on your site- check out Mobile Usability Report.
